Subject: | Re: prop inspection |
Here is my two cents on your original question. There is no MANDATORY inspection
on your propeller unless:
1. There are airworthiness limitations specified by the manufacturer in the TCDS
(type certificate data sheet). This could be spelling out life limited components
or even an inspection.
2. There is an AD issued for your propeller.
If your prop was not built under a TC then #1 above does not apply. If there is
an AD on your prop then your must comply with the AD. AD's typically do not tell
you to inspect/overhaul IE TBO. Experimental does not exempt you from AD's,
period.
TBO's are issued by the manufacturer and are NEVER mandatory. Only the FAA can
enforce and create regulatory policy, not the manufacturer. The manufacturer can
only issue recommendations (IE TBO's) but cannot enforce those.

Hi Harvard
I asked Termikas about that and they answered that , as experimental and annex
II aircraft , the yak 52 have not any noise certificate.
Only EASA full CofA aircrafts seem having such cerficate.
If it can help you :-)

Hi Olivier,
Thanks,
That's the same I tell the CAA here in Norway. I am in progress of take a new 52
into the Norwegian register and in that prosess the question came.
In fact I dont think they care about it:-) Just the normaly "we have to question
something".
Here In Norway the CAA Is very friendly around Yak's so thats a good thing:-)
I will also contact Aersostar and see what they say. Can post the result:-)
