There is no MANDATORY inspection on your propeller unless: 1. There are airworthiness limitations specified by the manufacturer in the TCDS (type certificate data sheet). This could be spelling out life limited components or even an inspection. 2. There is an AD issued for your propeller. If your prop was not built under a TC then #1 above does not apply. If there is an AD on your prop then your must comply with the AD. AD's typically do not tell you to inspect/overhaul IE TBO. Experimental does not exempt you from AD's, period. TBO's are issued by the manufacturer and are NEVER mandatory. Only the FAA can enforce and create regulatory policy, not the manufacturer. The manufacturer can only issue recommendations (IE TBO's) but cannot enforce those. Only EASA full CofA aircrafts seem having such cerficate. I am in progress of take a new 52 into the Norwegian register and in that prosess the question came. In fact I dont think they care about it:-) Just the normaly "we have to question something". Here In Norway the CAA Is very friendly around Yak's so thats a good thing:-) I will also contact Aersostar and see what they say.
