Jay-Dub I'll pop over to WW soon and say hello, perhaps we can get a 4 ship up in the air. At this time I've given up with the Article 10 exemption as getting it or entering into any dialog takes longer than getting a pilots license. (Why they cant just approach it in the same way as other countries is beyond me, and re-painting the a/c is a PITA). Funny how they seem to grant these exemptions if you own a Spitfire or Mustang etc even if the a/c isn't wearing a colour scheme the airframe flew with back in the day?!! Warren, good to hear from you hope all is well there! Rgs Harv Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=425902#425902

Subject: Simple SCUBA Tank Air Fill
    From: "ChangDriver" <capav8r@gmail.com>
I have used a paintball SCUBA fill adapter for many years on my CJ. Having a Schrader valve or the stock valve does not matter. Here is an example of the Paintball SCUBA Fill Station: http://www.amazon.com/Scuba-Station-NITRO-3000psi-4500psi/dp/B00AC4YSUC/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1404319397&sr=8-8&keywords=paintball+scuba+fill+station The knob on the side is a pressure relief valve that allows you to remove the fitting on the aircraft after filling the main air tank. I changed the hose quick connect on mine to be a standard 1/8 quick disconnect. That way I can remove the hose from the adapter as they fit in the lunch box in the plane better. I have a Schrader on my CJ. You MUST use the High Pressure 6116 Schrader adapter on the airplane end. http://www.skygeek.com/schrader-6116-high-pressure-inflating-connection.html You will need to have a high pressure hose made with a working pressure of 3000 psi (SCUBA tank pressure). I had mine made at a local Caterpillar dealer that has a hose making facility on site. Any place that makes hydraulic hoses can make them. If you don't have one close by, contact me off list and I can have one made here. Craig Simple, easy to use and the total cost is around $60. http://www.skygeek.com/schrader-6116-high-pressure-inflating-connection.html Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=425929#425929

    Subject: Inverters
    From: Ernest Martinez <erniel29@gmail.com>
The inverter for the front cockpit of my airplane had gone bad, so the previous owner moved the inverter for the rear cockpit to the front. But the front and back are 2 different inverters an SBL-40 (for the front) and the SBL-53 (for the rear). The only difference between the 2 according to the manual is the voltage tolerance, the SBL-40 is +/- 4% and the SBL-53 +/- 10%. I'm assuming it's becuase the frot inverter needs to power both the AI, and the DG. Here's my question, what's the problem with using a 53 for the front? Which is how I'm currently configured. The one that went bad was also a 53 so my plane basically had 2 53's front and back. -- Ernie Nanchang CJ-6A N6315T

While we are at it, are there any LED equivalents so that they don't keep burning out all the time? The -X in the inverters is basically their wattage. You can use the back one in the front. Bud Forester at one time wanted to come up with a solid state inverter that c ould be housed in the mechanical inverter's shell. It was a good idea... Nee d to check back with him. Hi Ernie, I believe you are looking for the GE 1864 bulb (28V bayonet type) The spruce P/N 11-04171 ($1.66 ea.). Ken Brooks N92862 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=425967#425967

Ernie; The standard indicator bulb in the CJ is the GE 313, a slightly better one is the GE 1846 (longer life =93 maybe). Better yet is the SuperBriteleds.com B9s series LED bulb. Hi Ernie; I think you may have that backwards. The front inverter (behind the seat) is the SBL 53 which operates the front horizon and the complete gyro compass system. The SBL 40 (aft RH access panel) operates only the rear gyro horizon.
