For Europe:
Termikas in Lithuania, or Aerometal in Hungaria. Until recently there was
a possibility in Ukraine, but that's uncertain today.
In the USA there are other possibilities, but then you have customs issues
(engine quits the EU and has to come back).

I have seen the work that Aerometal performed on M14 engine overhaul. It is
in my shop currently. The work was excellent! Anyone needing a overhaul I
would definitely consider Aerometal for the work.

Subject: | Re: Recomanded overhaul shop! |
The Russian mechanics still turn to Shakhty for overhaul of engines and
planes.
Since there are some 600 Yak 52's left in Russia, they have some work.
About the quality of their work, that is impossible to judge for us, today.
Also, many flying schools continue employing Yak 52's.
Most of these planes fly 200 to 300 hours per year.

Just throwing it out there! Great flying bird, lots of new stuff in it.
Need to let it go so I can re-engine the CJ. Any interest, contact me off
list.

Subject: | Re: harmonic vibration new prop Yak 55m |
Well we've dynamically balanced this prop installation. We have a whirlwind 20"
carbon composite spinner and it only needed 28grams about 18" out to get the
dynamic spot on.
Runs sweet on the ground. But in the air that harmonic is quite evident.
Especially at high RPM but low power settings such as approach, its so shocking,
I'm flying approaches at 80%.
The engineer is thinking a reduction gear issue, these blades are lighter than
the standard blades so maybe hide any engine issues less? We have double checked
the pitch and diameters are within half a millimeter (1/64 for you Americans
:-) the clamps are right out to the edge.
The only thing we didn't do was a static balance because the blades are supposedly
very accurate in dimension and weight. Any more hints guys before we pull
the prop off and start again?
Thanks Steve New Zealand.
P.S. in flat spins I get pitch hunting of around 5% i.e(98%-93%) Not sure if thats
relevant, could the fault be in the governor. Oh boy we could be here awhile.
