We have a whirlwind 20" carbon composite spinner and it only needed 28grams about 18" out to get the dynamic spot on. Runs ok on the ground. But in the air that harmonic is quite evident. Especially at high RPM but low power settings such as approach, its so shocking, I'm flying approaches at 80%. The engineer is thinking a reduction gear issue, these blades are lighter than the standard blades so maybe hide any engine issues less? We have double checked the pitch and diameters are within half a millimeter (1/64 for you Americans Smile the clamps are right out to the edge. The only thing we didn't do was a static balance because the blades are supposedly very accurate in dimension and weight. Any more hints guys before we pull the prop off and start again? Thanks Steve New Zealand. -------- SteveO Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=427472#427472 ________________________________ Message 11 ____________________________________ Time: 03:53:17 PM PST US From: "Robert Schroeder" Subject: Re: Yak-List: Autopilot I have been considering same. Now, its initially a little more expensive (2,200 for the D10A and then $1,500 (2 AP servos at 750 each). However, if you later want to go to the Skyview, you'll still be able to use the same servos. Also, I'd recommend contacting Barry Hancock, he should be able to help you with some plates for the servo mounting. It made the servo install much easier. I just want a simple AP for those occasional x-country's or when I need my hands free to fiddle with something. What would be great is if anyone created any drawings for mounting the servo's, I would appreciate a set, or even pictures of an install would be very helpful.
