Andrew I have used Dennis procedure for a number of years, afterEgon told me
about it, and it reduces that slamming during an emergancy extension, very e
ffectively.

se it or not. It is different from the procedure you are using and has work
ed extremely well for probably 15+ years.

Thanks All. Mark, I'll pass this onto Clive to compare notes we were all discussing
it during IBT annual. Cheers.

Subject: | Generator and electrical parts for Yak 52 standard |
Good morning all!
My standard Yak 52 has a sick reverse current relay, blown 15 Amp fuse, and possibly
needs some additional components in the generator circuit.
Does anyone know of a source for these older parts? I'm told that most people
have switched to the BnC alternator. Please email me if:
-- you know of anyone looking to part with the older Yak 52 generator components
or...
-- if you know best place to buy the BnC package or...
-- If you can help me estimate how long it will take the "average guy, like me"
to retrofit the BnC alternator (if no parts are available for my old system).
Thank you!

Subject: | Leaky Flap Diverter Valves????? |
Heres one for you Air Heads out there :)
I've been aware of a leak in my flap system that I have been chalking up to
leaky actuator seals. Basically if I leave the flap handle up in flight I
can't get more than 30 on the air gauge, but if I leave it in neutral, I
get up to 40. So I assumed the actuator was leaking back through the front
flap handle.
Today I decided to actuate the rear flap handle in the hangar and got a
VERY loud leak in the front cockpit. Didn't matter what position the front
handle was in, up, down or neutral. After a quick glance at the air
schematic I have concluded that it has to be that the diverter valves are
leaking air back through to the front handle.
Any thoughts before I start taking things apart. I realize I still may have
the leaky actuator.

Subject: | Gear Extender for Yak 55 |
Hi all,
I know I have asked this before and didn't find anything. I am trying again -
I just had the MT 260cm prop installed on my Yak 55 and we are concerned about
the ground clearance. I have seen extenders that attach to the bottom of the
strut to increase clearance.
My question - does anyone have these available for purchase, or does anyone have
a pattern I can use to have them made?
Thanks,
Anthony.

My strong advice to people putting the MT prop onto the 55 is to only use
the 250 cm diameter, simply because of ground clearance. The issue is
exacerbated by the fact that the 55 gear tends to sag over time.
However, if you already have the 260 prop, then you really should extend the
undercarriage by some means or only operate on smooth surfaces and always
keep the tail down!
