Subject: Yak-List: Program Letter
From: Ernest Martinez <erniel29@gmail.com>
I just got a letter from my friendly and knowledgeable FSDO in response to
my first program letter that I sent them. I was told that my letter did not
meet the requirements of 8130.2 chapter 4 section 10, which only states
that I need to provide the local FSDO with a Program Letter. It provides no
requirement for the content or format of the Program Letter.
The letter ends stating that the FSDO cannot accept my program letter, and
I need to re-submit a new one that meets the info required in 8130.
Correct me if I'm off base here, but a Program Letter merely informs the
FAA of my INTENT, and is not anything subject to approval or denial.
Apparently my letter must have ended up on the guys desk that never did
this before.

There should be guidance and an example in the 8130.2G but it does now
have a
specific format the FSDOs are using more and more.

But of course they would kind of expect you to be a member.

Subject: RE: Yak-List: Program Letter
Please try clicking on the link I have included below. If anyone has troubl
e with this link I could send a copy of the FAA's actual letter=2C requirem
ents included=2C from their own office. I got the rejection letter from the
FAA in 2010 rejecting the prior form I had used for the previous 10 years.
I am not sure why they had a change of requirement. I insisted they give m
e exactly what they wanted=2C and they did. This one you just fill it out a
nd copy them. They must accept it=2C it is theirs. By the way the FAA order
is slightly different than that listed below. Should be 8130.2F chapter 10
paragraph 159=2C sub-paragraph (b)(1) on page 170 and Paragraph 161 sub-pa
ragraph (37) on page 178. A bunch of bolonga but there it is and here is th
e link. Hope this

Please try clicking on the link I have included below. If anyone has troubl

ents included=2C from their own office.

Mike,
8130.2F has been superseded by 8130.2G. This new directive does not require
issuance of a new AW cert or Ops limitations upon sale of aircraft or
change of home base.

Oc
t. 9 - 12. I hope to do the ground school the afternoon of the 9th. FNGs
s
hould come having read ALL the material. We try to get as many of the
FPRs o
ut of the way as possible. I expect a number of FNGs from the T-34 group
so
there will be mixed formations which is good training. We'll try to get so
me Mass Formation practice in also. The AYS FBO is ready for us. The
plan i
s to keep it simple and fly as much as possible. I have not set up the
hote
l yet (mostly likely will be the Holiday Inn) but reservation will be up
to y
ou. I'm planning on having sandwiches and drinks on hand for lunches.
Righ
t now the fee will be $50.00/person. There will be one banquet night,
(righ
t now planning on the Italian place) each will pay their individual bill.
