Had a similar issue with my CJ-6A. So I bought an ultrasonic tester off of eBay, and using it found it was the pressure gauge in the rear cockpit that was leaking internally. I got a new one from Doug and the system stopped leaking. In fact, the entire community of Nanchangs, Yaks and Delphins at my home field have benefitted from my tester. Best yet it was reasonably priced on eBay. We still use the soapy water method first in case of obvious leaks and then use the ultrasonic when we can't find bubbles. Strongly recommended. When my control stick is in the center, the right aileron is down 7/8" and the left aileron is up 7/8". Does anyone know what adjustment I can make so the ailerons are in sync with the control stick. Thanks. Kelley

First of all, does the airplane fly level with when you release pressure on the stick and the aileron are still displaced that much? 7/8" sounds like a lot to me. You can make adjustment out at the aileron. You can drop down a inspection door on the wing just inboard of the aileron. There you will see a push pull tube from a bell crank. The forward end bearing is riveted, however the other end that attaches to the aileron is threaded and can be adjusted there. I didn't look but I believe there are other adjustment points along the whole control run of push rods. It might be in the belly where the stick's torque tube links up with the push pull tubes to the aileron bell cranks. Hope that helps. Jim "Pappy" Goolsby In a message dated 10/13/2014 8:03:48 P.M. Troops, Had a very good weekend at AYS "Gator Chase" 17 aircraft showed up and except for fog Thursday morning the weather was just perfect. Some JW was consumed along with some beer, and the Waycross airport guys did a "low country boil" that was out of this world. We did a lot of flying. 4 FPRs (16 pilots) 3 flight checks (Leads) and 4 FNGs (well on their way now). All good company and safe. Well we did lose a pilot to the point we called the sheriff and the local cops to look for him. Turned out the hotel had him in the wrong room and he had turn off the ringer of his cell phone. As HMFIC for a 2 hours period, I was really worried. Anyway we gave him the bone award all though some others may have deserved it. Off at Odark30 to fly the B-24 for a couple of weeks. Missed doing a lot of flying over the summer because of the FAA bureaucrats and a doctor who was to busy to write a letter. BTW all letters to the FAA go into "security" for one week before being opened. Delay delay delay. Jim "Pappy" Goolsby

Kelley; Is there any history behind this? Was there work done on the ailerons or control system? Very strange, that is a huge discrepancy. KELLY. There is a pair of bell cranks in the belly that connect to the torqu e tubes, that the control sticks are mounted in. Take the belly panel off th at covers the fuel header tank and look up along the left side of the header tank. You will see two bell cranks the fwd one connects to the torque tube t hat the control sticks are mounted to. I can't remember if the is an adjustm ent rod between the bell crank and the torque tube. If so you should be able to adjust the linkage so that when the control stick is in neutral, the ail erons should be in neutral also. I was just working up in that area as I jus t installed a roll servo for my autopilot on the short linkage between the t wo bell cranks. Good luck on your quest. Gary. LAS.
