Looking at all the problems you've posted with your new Nanchang should show the
rest of the prospective Nanchang buyers why you don't buy a $65k Nanchang. Every
dollar you "save" will cost you $5 in time and parts.
Learn it from others or learn it yourself, there's no such thing as a bargain Nanchang
that isn't a headache.

Gotta back Pete up on this one. Picked up my Yak after it was totaled by th
e insurance company. 2.75 years later it's finally flying 98% reliably. Alt
hough for me=2C it was the right choice - not being able to afford a health
ier initial investment. But I was also willing to see it through and turn a
ll the wrenches myself. There's something to be said for gaining all that i
ntimate knowledge regarding your aircraft=2C too. It's been a long road and
I'm not in "park" yet. But I feel like I KNOW this airframe and systems -
not as well as many but more than some. And isn't that how life goes? If yo
u want it bad enough - you can find ways to bring it full circle...

My $60k Nanchang has cost me about $600 in parts and has been completey
trouble free after a little work. Runs like a champ, consumes very litle
oil, and doesnt leak very much. After tending to a neglected air system, it
is tight as a drum. I just spent a great weekend at the WayCross formation
Clinic after a 6 year hiatus, and flew the crap out of my $60k Nanchang
without a hiccup. I couldnt be happier with my purchase.
I don't know how long you've owned your CJ but I've owned them long enough
to know not to overpay, because down the road it's going to be worth less
than I paid, as you are starting to learn the hard way.
Rather than disparage my purchase, maybe you should swallow your pride and
lower your price and maybe you'll get yours sold.

I got my Yak for less than $40. No problems. In fact got both my Yaks
for less than $40.
Bought L-29s for $28 with never a problem. Bought L-39s for under $65,
never a problem.
Bought a C-172 for under $10 no problems.
I have also paid a ton for what was supposed to be a great airplane. Now
a museum piece and had to be towed to the museum!
I spent a ton on a new car that was a lemon.
So Pete, there are just good deals out there without having to mortgage
the farm. And they fly just fine.
We are happy with this flying as a hobby. When you make your hobby a
business, things get to be no fun.
Working on your airplane is fun as well.
If you can=92t afford the $5 in parts, by a bicycle.
Price does not dictate nor establish quality.
You boys play nice.
