That prevents sump from over flowing into the lower th ree cylinders. If your plan is going to set for a while that is one way to p revent hydraulic lock. It is designed for Porsche air c ool 911 engine which has a dry sump oil system. Here is a description of how this valve works from www.pelicanparts.com: > > "One of the common problems with classic 911=99s can be a plume of o il smoke from your exhaust on start up. This is especially true for cars tha t do not get driven regularly or have sat for a while. While this is not har mful to the engine if after starting you get the engine up to operating temp erature it can be quite embarrassing. There is nothing worse than having all eyes on you as you step into your 911 only to have a gigantic smoke screen c ome from the exhaust on start up. > > The majority of this smoke on startup comes from oil from the oil tank mig rating back into the motor. Rothsport has come up with an ingenuous solution to this problem by designing an oil inlet check valve that restricts the fl ow of oil back into the motor and opens instantly on start up. Installation i s quick and easy and a perfect solution for cars that sit for long periods o f time. Note; the valve is clearly marked with an engine side and a tank sid e. Failure to install the check valve in the right orientation will lead to o il starvation and catastrophic damage to your engine. Please make sure to re ad all the instructions and double check the orientation of the valve when i nstalling." > > What do you think? > > > > > www.aeroelectric.com > www.buildersbooks.com > www.homebuilthelp.com > www.mypilotstore.com > www.mrrace.com > http://www.matronics.com/contribution > http://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Yak-List > http://forums.matronics.com > > www.aeroelectric.com tp://www.matronics.com/contribution">hw" target="_blank" href="http://ww w.matronics.com/Navigator?Yak-List">h > > > > 3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3 D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D 3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3 D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D 3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3 D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D 3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3 D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message yak-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Yak-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/yak-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/yak-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
