Subject: | Polish vs Russian artificial horizon |
Can anyone tell me if the Russian (YAK?) ark-47B artificial horizon can be a drop
in replacement for the Polish GH-28B attitude indicator for a Wilga? The physical
dimensions seem identical, the displays are very similar, and the cannon-type
plugs are the same. However, the ark-47B I am testing will not power up
when plugged in, whereas the GH-28B does power up. I would think they would
have the same wiring requirements. Anyone know, or have a wiring diagram for the
ark-47B?

Here are pics of the tank I fashioned for my plane.
Specs:
Drager 4500 PSI 60 min Carbon Fiber Wrapped Aluminum Tank.
Weight 10 lbs
Length 21"
Diameter 7"
Hydro Tested to 7500 PSI.
Fittings:
Stainless Steel SCBA to NPT Adapter
NPT to AN #4 Male Adapter.
This should fit in the same bracket where the stock tanks lives. All thats
left is to create an aluminum tube pigtail with an AN B-Nut on one end and
the Chinese Nut on the other.

Ernie-
Jax Fluid Technologies 904-642-2093 is a nearby source for Swagelok tubing/ferrules/valves
that might help you finish things off. You should do a Red Star article
when all done with your setup...looks good. Keep us posted.

Ernie,
Would a Drain port be needed here as in the original tank for draining
moisture/water?
