MT themselves don't like that prop! Aerodynamically it is not that efficient; it is not suitable for hard aerobatics, but they recognise that people buy it simply for its looks! They have no doubt that the best blade is the - 29, which they normally recommend for these aircraft. Also, it's a speed brake. That said, I still love ours after 500 hours. Love polishing the brass leading edges and just staring at it. Truly a work of art. Dave- I have the V-530c on my M14P CJ6. It is a great looking prop, compared to the V-530 and has proven to be a superior prop for smoothness, with marginal gains in climb and deceleration. If there has been an improvement in speed it is in the range of +2 knots. Altogether I have been satisfied with the prop, as I was looking for improvements in smoothness and looks. The slight performance improvements were a bonus. Both propellers are manufactured by Whirlwind, but if you decide to order the 530C through M14P Inc, they get a better return on their investment on that propellers development. UPDATE - got everything put back together, went surprisingly well. Did a leak check with soapy water by pulling a few blades through and saw bubbles, so tightened the check valve to compressor fitting, until I stripped the threads on the compressor housing. So, can it be heli-coiled or did I just kill the compressor? Can't believe it, after all I went through, to blow it at the very end like that - just beside myself. And, any pointers on how best to avoid that in the future. Had a new set of crush washers from Jill and just wanted the thing to seal up but no joy, figure it just needed to be tightened up but apparently not as tight as I thought. Thanks again.
