I make no secret of my bias in favour of MT propellers since we sell them!
But then, over 90% of competitors at recent World and European Aerobatic
Championships used MT propellers which says a lot.
However, having once had propeller failure with a VP prop, which I would not
wish on anyone, there is a huge comfort factor with an MT propeller by
virtue of it being fully certificated, so I know that it has gone through a
process of formal testing; deliberate significant over speeding etc.

Why not consider GT propeller? I fly with them since a while and the
performance is outstanding and the vibration almost disappeared (more than
10 kts speed gain!). I think that overhauling the hub in this case is
necessary if you want to have a perfect and smooth running prop... it's
worth the value!

Cory, my GUESS is that you have lost the PLL (Phase Lock Loop) board. This is
the part of the circuit that locks the radio on frequency. It will not transmit
without this board working, but will make static noise although it will not
receive signals. I've seen this happen in a few of these radios. The circuit
boards are able to be changed if you can find a spare with something else
wrong with it. You will need to change the connector on the coax, to a "real"
BNC, and now would be a good time to replace it as well, but that is not totally
necessary. Use RG-142B/U if you do make a new run.
Stay away from Becker radios. Some have had success with them, most do not. Very
susceptible to noise.
Otherwise, it is a matter of tracing out the pins on the radio plug and then fabricating
a new mount.

It does have static with the fuse in and quite when not. No change in sound if
the antenna is plugged in or not. Does not receive i.e. atis, does not transmit,
but does go quite when the push to talk is "pushed", no sound in headset.
plug receptacles look good, clean and tight. (2) headsets tried.
What is a good western radio that will fit out foot print?

yipDog Studios (along with assistance of Jay Beckman). Both of these guys
are huge supporters of the RPA. We had a great time working together. You
will see some cameos in the video, also. It is on YouTube at :

and we will be incorporating the webstore in phase 2 of the build.
Also, we are now offering magneto coils that are duplicated in the
Russian-style with the capacitor wound internally. These are mainly for our
overseas customers that cannot diverge from original. We also offer our
U.S. rewound coils that utilize an external capacitor.
I picked up some of the chatter on prop blades. Our V-53OC blades are $6000
a pair, as are the W-530s. A spinner is $1,500. GT Propeller will be
sending us a set of customer blades to install in a V-530 hub for a scaled
Hughes H-1 Racer being built.
