      My front brake cable broke several strands right at the swage at the
      handle. I've never replace one. Do you replace the sheath and the cable or
      do you just run a new cable through the exiting sheath and swage a new ball
      at the handle end?
      
      Do I have to use OEM or are their motorcycle, etc. replacements?

      At least those airplanes had an emergency brake, CJ's and Yaks have no such
      device. Fortunately I had 3 strands still holding when it broke, and
      occurred lining up for  takeoff, and not on landing.
