If you are able to grab the prop counter weights and give a hard tug down throwing your weight into the process the strut should compress a little. (It will also compress when you run the engine up with brakes on) I like my struts a little on the softer side. That said, anything more than a momentary and I mean QUICK tap on the valve to release air will probably release too much air. If the nose strut becomes too soft you will have problems with the over center cam and steering will be very difficult. If you have the auto spark plug conversion, use a plug socket with a hex end and a box end wrench for the #6 plug. I suggest the first thing you do is contact Doug Sapp and invest in some CJ manuals and you'll have everything you need at your finger tips.
