To be honest we have run the HS6A to TBO with no problems at all on straight mineral oil - starting to regret buying 55gal of Phillips 25W-60! No doubt it is a better oil but the life of these engines is so short the benefits don't have time to reveal themselves before the engine is removed and sitting in the back of hangar as a giant paperweight. Watch compressions and Oil consumption and go ahead an put in that filter. Most likely when she's really worn out, its now possible to get them overhauled to Zero time again. Maybe even up graded to higher compression pistons and 'total seal' oil rings. Check with Jill. Most likely when that engine is opened up, it will be very dirty inside. That just character of using mineral oil. And that can be cleaned. And after that overhaul, you can use that barrel of 25w-60! It does not need to become a paperweight.
