Subject: | Stainless steel Yak 52 tanks |
We are considering manufacturing stainless nipples and plugs for the new
Yak 52 stainless steel main and emergency air tanks. I do believe that alu
or steel which are presently used will sooner or later cause rust and or
corrosion which will contaminate the pneumatic system. If anyone out
there has a set of Yak 52 main and emergency air tank nipples and plugs
which I could borrow I would be happy to replace them with a set of the new
stainless steel fittings when they become available.
The new tanks should arrive here in about 60 days. The first run is only
for 10 sets (set=1 main and 1 emergency). 3 sets and 1 emergency remain
available as of this writing.
We are also doing the stainless steel fittings for the CJ6 tanks, we expect
that they will be available soon.
Best,
Doug

Todd,
We have talked about it, it depends on the numbers of 50's out there.
Molds and the set up costs are pretty high. How many 50's are flying in
the world?

I don't know about flying. There are at least 65 (maybe more) with 37 on the
US registry.
There are 5 that I know of in the Phoenix area and at least 8 in SoCal and a
nother 4 in NorCal.
