Guys & Jill, on my last flight, the left landing gear hung up on deployment. I recycled & it came down. It did this about a month ago & I checked all the linkage, up lock & everything visible at that time. Nothing unusual noticed. I had about 40 on air pressure & I am not sure if the gear actually came down as the barber pole on the wing stayed down. Also, I had a green & red light combination when the problem occurred. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Paul Lewis Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=450610#450610

Sounds like an actuator problem. Do you hear any air leaking at the gear selector when you turn on the main air valve OR when you retract the gear after takeoff? A. Hi Paul; You should have a look at the top of the gear leg, barber pole and attachment. You stated "barber pole on the wing stayed down". The only way that can happen is due to a failure of the attachment to the gear leg, a broken or bent rod, etc. which could also explain why the gear would not come down, the rod (barber pole) may have become jammed with structure. Check it out. Paul, For what it's worth I put about 6-8 hours in your CJ before you bought it form Ron. During that time the right gear hung up twice during retraction, but came down and locked just fine. I tried (on jacks) to get it to duplicate the problem immediately after it happened without success. I went over the system carefully and could find nothing leaking or out of adjustment. Admittedly that was several years and many hours ago, Do I recall a gear issue with Star during a annual? didn't they R&R one of the MLG's, if I'm recalling correctly, which side was it? Doug, the left gear is hanging up. It's the same one that Bill overhauled on 2009.
