I have a Yak 55M with the Cleveland brake conversion. For the past several flights my brakes were fine for taxi out and run up but after landing and taxi back to the hangar I had difficulty holding the right brake for scavenge run up. The rotor was not any warmer than the left one. Yesterday the right brake failed completely after landing. Coincidentally the temperature was 15* below previous flights (50*). The reservoir is full with normal pedal travel. My aircraft manual speaks about a gauze filter in the master cylinder to preclude loss of fluid during inverted flight. Could this be blocking normal pressure equilibrium after extended inverted flight and descent to sea level? Im guessing here cause I don't really understand how the mechanism works. He has the new solid state reg with the install kit, but no schematics. If you have any ideas/drawings or schematics please let us know. Doug, I was wondering if you have had any luck with finding some instructions on how to install the solid state regulator or locating a serviceable old style replacement. We are about to install the one you sent me if we have no option but the more information we have, all the better.
