Hi Robin;
I count only three different serial numbers all of which were of 1969
manufacture, not 2003 as he stated. Chances are not good that any are
=9Cfirst overhaul=9D.
If you want to continue with him tell him to send you photo copies of
the overhaul, test run and installed accessories certificates contained
in the log book for each engine. With a translator these will answer
your questions. Of course the logs must come with the engine.

Listers,
I received the following emails from Spencer who allegedly is selling a
Housai engine. I believe others also received his email.
I told Spencer I have friend in China who can inspect the engine. He
then ask me for a deposit before inspection. He sent me the following
pictures of the engine he is selling. These pictures clearly are from
different engines. I counted at least 4 different serial numbers.
BTW, he titled his email "Re: looking for an Housai HS-6D 300hp for a
Nanchang CJ6 Aircraft."

Robin and Walter
This joker "Spencer", who signs off as Brian is a very naive middle man at
best, at worst he is a thief. If he is working you like me, he has most
likely sent you a copy of the log,
in that log look carefully at the serial number (top left of the page).
Then go back to the photo's he sent to "prove" he has the goods and look at
that serial number.
Please don't tell me that you are surprised that they do not match!!
First he wanted 30K, then it was 20K, "last" offer was 17K, when that was
also refused he offers to accept my deposit for 10K with a guarantee to
refund if the engine is not good.
Good luck to anyone thinking this guy or the engine is for real.

Hi John,
It is on the fuselage frame at the seat back station, left side.
That=99s close to the external filling fitting. I need to have a
rubber neck to read it at that location! It is soft mounted with ties so
as not to drill any holes in the frame. It works fine.
My buddy has his mounted under the instrument panel on the left side.
Easier to read.
Regards,
Royden

Hello John,
I=99m no expert on that. My 55M came already fitted. The gauges I
mention are NTP thread.
However, a top quality manufacturer of tubes and fittings is Swagelok.
They do both metric and imperial. Try Googling them and then find a
local distributor.

John,
There is no air valve (shut of valve) on a Yak 55M. It's a very simple
system relative to a Yak 52. You can T off a line that is exposed to
permanent air pressure from receiver to the pressure relief valve under
the cockpit floor that is accessible from the removable inspection cover
aft of the fire wall under the fuselage.
The gauge can be selected from any manufacturer that does bourdon tube
gauges at 1000 psi or 70 bars. If the gauge is oil (linseed) filled for
damping, I suggest the oil be drained out as it will leak out anyway,
what with variations in altitude and make a big mess.
"Winters" is one of many manufacturers with various dial sizes, and
attachment entries (bottom or back). I find that they eventually leak
air after a few years, so I suggest you get an extra as a spare.
Regards
Royden

John,
Regardless of what pressure gauge you use, plumb it before the main air
valve. The 52's gauge has two gauges built into one instrument head;
for both the main and emergency. That way you'll be able to read the air
pressure in the main air tank without having to turn on the main air
valve. Wastes precious air when you have to turn on the main air valve
just to read the air pressure in the main air tank.52 is plumbed this
way. CJ is not- at least on the main air side.

Try under the turtle deck aft of the rear cockpit. I did that for my Dynon i
n the 50. Worked fine on headings after slaving the DG. Mount it first with i
ndustrial adhesive backed Velcro. That way you can move it if you do not lik
e it.

I have had 2 or 3 emails from this guy but sent straight to junk with no
response to him. I agree he is most likely a thief. If I had any
interest in his engines the first thing I would want to see is the
specific Certification documents (as listed in my response to Robin)
from the log book.
If that looked legit the next request would be for specific pages from
different sections of the log. The engine log is about 5/8=9D
thick!
If still OK the next request is for a good (and knowledgeable) friend in
Hong Kong to check it out.
Next, if looking good, a trip to China (on my Airline pass of course)
after which I may part with a small down payment with a signed contract
for delivery and payment, in that order.

Robin and Walter
This joker "Spencer", who signs off as Brian is a very naive middle man
at best, at worst he is a thief. If he is working you like me, he has
most likely sent you a copy of the log,
in that log look carefully at the serial number (top left of the page).
Then go back to the photo's he sent to "prove" he has the goods and look
at that serial number.
Please don't tell me that you are surprised that they do not match!!
First he wanted 30K, then it was 20K, "last" offer was 17K, when that
was also refused he offers to accept my deposit for 10K with a guarantee
to refund if the engine is not good.
Good luck to anyone thinking this guy or the engine is for real.

Hi Robin;

Listers,
I received the following emails from Spencer who allegedly is selling
a Housai engine.
