Subject: | Auto plug wire History |
As I recall, it was back in the Yak Pilot Club days that Marcus Bates and a few
other guys in Texas started using RFI/EFI noise suppressing auto wire and motorcycle
spark plug. Dennis made kits up and sold them using 8mm Taylor wire. I
used on of his kits on my first M-14p installation, modified with a Delrin end
plate of my own manufacture, and I switched to NGK spark plugs.
Since then, I have used the Red MSD 8.5mm wire with a larger core wire than the
Taylor 8mm, with a gray boot and an aluminum end plate. This is what I use for
the electronic magneto conversion. For flat engine conversions, I use the Red
"Pro Boot" due to higher heat for the top plugs under fiberglass cowls. This
is what LightSpeed does.
In all circumstances, careful installation is a must to insure good connections.
The results are easier starting and smoother running.

CJ6.com has been up dated and is back! Nothing fancy just a web site that
works.
We reworked the site with the thought in mind that most of you use a tablet
or smart phones while working on your aircraft. The new format will allow
you to order parts from your hanger or shop via your phone instead of
having to wait until you get back to your PC.
Order the parts, update the cart, hit the send order button and your done,
just that simple. We receive your order in email form and will respond
with pricing the same day.
The search engine which we are using makes it very easy for you to find the
parts you require without the hassle of looking up part numbers. If you do
require parts books, all 5 volumes are there on the site for your
convenience. We will also be posting schematics and drawings as they
become available.
Please feel free to let us know how the site works for you.
Best,
Doug and Kathleen

The "schematics / parts / downloads / etc." headings on the main page shoul
d also be links to those things. Just seems more natural and no extra 'cos
t' to have both links at the top and links on the main page go places.

Jon:
They absolutely do go to those pages, Maybe I don't understand your
comment. But when I click on any of those items and they are linked (do
take you) to those pages.
