From: "TigerAirshows" Yes. Very common in High humidity environments. Especially during cross country. Make sure your aircraft is configured for the condition of flight you plan to encounter. Attached are photos fright from the Tech description manual of the Yak 55. -------- Mark Sorenson- www.tigerairshows.com Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=453746#453746 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/image_191.jpeg http://forums.matronics.com//files/image_307.jpeg http://forums.matronics.com//files/image_191.jpeg http://forums.matronics.com//files/image_256.jpeg http://forums.matronics.com//files/image_688.jpeg http://forums.matronics.com//files/image_464.jpeg ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 12:34:58 PM PST US Subject: Yak-List: Re: Fuel leak From: "LawnDart" If the tanks are similar to the Yak-52 (yellow, aluminum), the baffles are riveted from the bottom then welded over to seal. Over time, the welds crack and the tank leaks. Removing the tank and sealing with 8802 sealant has worked for me. You can put it across the power leads to your VHF radio (like it suggests), or the power leads of any other device that you want to try and filter out noise from. If you suspect power spikes the transorp would also be useful in certain situations. -----Original Message----- From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Roger Kemp Sent: Monday, March 14, 2016 1:22 AM Subject: [Non-DoD Source] Re: Yak-List: $1325 for all 9 cht/egt Interesting. Thanks for posting. What my attention was at the very bottom of their page. The 10,000uF capacitor. I defer to Mark B. On this but will it be useful placed inline close to the Tach Generator? Will try adding both to see if that improves anything. Still three to four months away from worrying about that. Will do that before the tanks go back in. About halfway through moving the oil cooler to the wing root along with half of the control surfaces recovered. Only so many hours in the day and weeks in the month. Have mag drop on Mag 1 on Housai engine. Started engine using only Mag 1 and discovered cyl 1&2 remained cold. On mag 2 they fire up. Checked plugs, checked resistance on wires (around 150ohms) and inspected and cleaned mag and cap. Is that too high a resistance on wires? If not, what else? Instead, I ran the vents to a welder bung on the oil tank. Clean motor.
