All other cylinders are over 70. We have determined the exhaust valve is leaking. We have staked the valve but with little success. My AME (new to the housai) is ready to lap it but doesn=99t know the correct grinding details (dimensions/angles) for the valve seats and the intake and exhaust valves. If anyone has this information or helpful hints on the process, please advise. Thanks, Phil Nicholson C-FEPN =93 Ottawa ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 09:55:07 AM PST US From: "Walter Lannon" Subject: Re: Yak-List: Exhaust valve lapping Phil; Have you checked the valve clearances? These should be checked and adjusted as required every 50 hrs or so. These engines seem to have a tendency for the exhaust valve to lose clearance over time. If not corrected the valve will not fully close. If you decide to remove the cylinder be aware #4 is the master rod cylinder and special precautions apply.
