I agree.
A word of caution Havard. =C2- First, you will have to reuse the fittings
from the old gear selector, unless you purchase new fittings from Doug.=C2
- If you are using the old fittings, take a photo of how the fittings are
clocked (positioned) into the body of the gear selector.=C2- This is ver
y important when you reinstall the fittings into the new gear selector.=C2
- If you do not clock the fittings correctly, you will end up cross threa
ding the B-Nuts on to the fitting.=C2- Most importantly,=C2- DO NOT att
empt to unscrew the fittings from the body of the old gear selector without
first heating the fitting at the base of the fitting where it screws into
the body using a propane torch.=C2- Then SLOWLY unscrew the fitting.=C2
- If you don't heat the fitting first, you will end up galling the thread
s of the fitting, making it unusable.
You may want to ask Doug if he has new fittings available.=C2- If yes, do
n't think twice about buying them.

Hi,After test today I conclude with leak in gear handle.
Neautral rear- up forward=very Small leak in forward handleNeutral forwar
d- up rear= no leak
Down position no leaks either way.
Then I Think my forward handle gives the leak and no internal leak in actua
tors?
Doug, Could you qoute me a new handle?

Dennis/Havard,
Yes I carry most all the fittings, also have a double ended flare fitting
which is excellent when splicing a air line. We also now carry the new
stainless steel air fittings and plugs for use in the new style stainless
steel air tanks.
Best,
Doug

The leak is between the blower and the power section. A couple of studs wouldn't
take torque. Pulled the engine to replace the studs and found a zero time
one in the meantime. Our metallurgist said the studs failed in fatigue. This
is a good engine, regardless of what the clowns on this sight misrepresent.

Fatigue or over torqued?
Yes, it is an outstanding engine.

Fatigued. The metallurgist showed the striation propagation, crack growth, typical
of fatigue. The stud elongation caused it to lose torque. When I went
to re-torque to stop the oil leak, the remaining 5-10 percent of the intact cross
sectional area failed. Looked at the break, didn't see the tattletale 45
deg fracture typical of torsion failure and asked the metallurgist. He said the
fatigue occurred over a significant amount of time. Thanks.

Some joker hijacked my ad by posting a duplicate with the same title claiming that
these engines are bad and throw rods. Not to mention sabotaging my effort
to find a good place for this engine that I have for sale. Never met the guy,
have no idea what he has against these engines, so please religate him to the
trash pile. I've operated two of these engines now and have nothing but praise
for them.
I responded to a legitimate question on his counterfeit post that anyone interested
would like to see answered here. So I've copied the question, and response
here.
The leak is between the blower and the power section. A couple of studs wouldn't

Why are these clowns around on here, causing extra effort for a simple ad.
Do Y'all have an avenue to filter these trouble makers out.
