Subject: | CJ6 GT blade @ UK Rally |
Hello to all my wonderful Yakkers friends,
I just want to advise that GT Propellers will be @ LAA Rally 2016 at Sywell Aerodrome
UK, between the 2nd and 4th September. Come join us in Tent A we will
have 9 square meters of propeller and propeller specialists that you just wont
see from our competitors. Lets talk about any propeller issues you might have.
GT2 CJ6 new prop and a M14 blades will be on display.
See you there.
Alex

Gents,
Just wanted to say thank you for all of the advice. I did what was
recommended: 300 AGL at 100kts, release 100ft prior, and came first place
:)
Some initial thoughts (for newbies):
1. You cant see the target on the final approach. You have to line up some
ways back and watch it disappear under your nose.
2. The key for me was the 100ft early release. I paced it back from the
center of the target. Because you cant see the 'target -100 spot' on the
ground, you have to select points right and left as bomb
release indicators. Make sure they are far enough away from the target
(left and right) so you can see them.
3. Almost all competition bombs went long.
4. Some pilots take it very seriously, cheating on altitude, removing doors
so the bombardier can hang out over the target etc and lose sorely :)
All in all a great day.
Thanks,
Phil

Subject: | Air show opportunity |
I know this is short notice, but the airshow coordinator at Little Rock
AFB contacted me and asked for RPA participation. The show is at Little
Rock AFB, AR Sept 16 - 17 2016. He wants any make of foreign military
aircraft for static display and possibly formation fly-bys. They will
provide fuel, smoke oil, hotels (both nights), rental cars and food.
Opportunities this sweet don't often come our way. I wish I could go,
but can't. If you are interested, here is the contact info:

Subject: | M14P Exhaust Shim Install Advice Needed... |
I just finished putting the new air compressor on my TW. Exhaust is fully bolted
on.
How do I hold the shim/header wrap/shim assembly together while getting the clamp
on? Is it a two person job? Seems like there would be some simple trick!
