Has anyone flown their Yak/CJ into Canada?
What's required? I've found the information about Exp Amateur Build, but
nothing about Exp Exhibition.

You either ignore the rules and hope for the best or you get a special
flight authorization from the MOT. It is a little gray if you are just
transiting their airspace without a landing.

I have taken my CJ-6A into Canada several times. To be
legal you will need to get a special temp Canadian Air Worthiness
certificate. About 120 dollars Canadian and several weeks of e-mails
and forms? And they will try to limit the time that you can be in Canada
.
I have tried several times to get one for the year with no luck.
So if possible string together several air shows, form practices, etc.
over a few month period and you may get them?
It has been my experience that the Canadian MOT (FAA) have never ask to
see
this paper work. I have been casually inspected by Transport Canada
inspectors (I.e. FISDO)
and was told they really did not care if I had the paper work or not!
So many people just go without the Special Air Worthiness certificate.
BUT the Oh Shit about this is
coming back into the US. If the customs inspector ask to see your paper
work and you do not has the
special A/W certificate You have performed an illegal operation by
taking your plane to Canada. If charged
The Fine starts at $5,000.00 and/or confiscation of the air craft!
Get the paper work or take your chances!
