Need a replacement main air cylinder for the Yak52. Anyone know of any supplies? I seem to remember somewhere someone was offering kevlar replacement tanks as opposed to steel? Any second hand steel ones will need to be inspected before purchase since the reason for replacement is internal corrosion (that happens with age). I'm in the UK if that helps, so obviously some p&p prices to consider also. Contacts please? (and prices preferably) Regards, Nigel Willson Flying Instructor & Examiner | Airshow Organiser | Display Pilot Mobile: +44 (0)7809 116676 Email: nigel.willson@yakdisplay.com Web: http://easyppl.com http://greatbritishairshows.com http://yakdisplay.com

Check with Doug Sapp. He has new stainless steel tanks for the CJ and, I believe, for the Yak 52. Subject: February Swamp Fest Announcment
Happy New Year Swamp Pilots, =C2- Now that the Holidays are over it's time to get back to the fun stuff like formation flying...=C2- Here's the basic info you'll need for Swamp Fest. =C2- Feel free to distribute to anyone who might want to join in or even to those GA pilots who might want to come over for the day on Saturday and hang out...=C2- That's how I got into the community, so spread the word. =C2- The big thing I ask of you is an RSVP , so read the below and RSVP to me NL T 1 February . =C2- Swamp Fest Invitation =C2- Who: RPA Members, but others are invited regardless of formation ratings or type airplane. We had a couple RV guys at the last event and they worked i n nicely. There were a couple of other types too, but we didn=99t get the opportunity to see them work, so come one come all and we=99ll s ort it out. Might we have a MIG there wouldn=99t that be coo l (Hint Greg!). =C2- When: 16-19 February. Arrive before 1500 on Thursday, 16 February for regis tration and to begin academic training. Depart Sunday, 19 February. Detaile d schedule TBP. =C2- Where: Waycross, GA (KAYS) =C2- Training: Training events: =C2- - Need to know who needs what. Reply back to me ONLY ME not to all please w ith the specific training you need along with your experience. For example: =9CI=99m a fairly new guy who has flown a few formation hops w ith my buddy, but need the basic ground school and progression through the gates. The goal is to obtain my wing card by May.=9D Or =9CI =99m an experienced wingman, but would like to upgrade to flight lead. I =99ve got about 200 hours as wingman and have been practicing leading two and four ship missions.=9D Or =9CI=99ve done it all and sometimes I=99m called =9CSky God=9D and would like a dvance to the next level of organizing a mini-clinic.=9D I=99m being somewhat serious here and I=99ll explain when I see you at Wayc ross. =C2- - If you need basic formation ground school sound off, if so it will start Thursday evening. NOTE: You MUST download print then read and study the RPA Formation Manual from the RPA Website ( https://flyredstar.starchapter.com /content.php?page=Library) . Also, you need to practice as much as possib le prior to the clinic. Point being, DO NOT come to the clinic with no prio r formation training or experience and expect to leave with a wing card. Be ing a competent and safe formation pilot requires extensive training and pr actice. =C2- - Tactical (2-ship) formation ground school will be late Friday afternoon. This is targeted towards experienced (read carded) formation pilots, but al l are welcome. The experienced guys will need GIBs and good experience for the FNGs. =C2- - Still pulling together some academic training such as parachute/bail out ops, but expect this first evening to be oriented towards ground training - read no flight ops on Thursday. =C2- - Flight ops will begin Friday morning following a MANDATORY safety briefin g. We will begin with two-ship ops progressing to four-ship parade formatio ns. Remember the intent of this clinic is to knock of the winter rust in pr eparation for full up ops by Sun N Fun in April, so we=99re gonna sta rt slow and work up... all of us. =C2- Logistics: =C2- - Lodging: I=99ve blocked rooms at three hotels (10 at each) you pick and make your own reservations =C2- just ask for the =9CR edstar Pilot=99s=9D and they=99ll give you the discounted rate plus tax. =C2- - Holiday Inn Express discounted at $95 per night; includes a full breakfas t. 912-548-0720 - Quality Inn discounted at $60 per night; includes continental breakfast. 912-283-4490 - Hampton Inn discounted at $90 per night; includes full breakfast.=C2- 9 12-285-5515 =C2- Ground Transportation Provided: I=99ll need some help with drivers. =C2- Lunch: Friday and Saturday lunch is catered with a cold cut buffet of roast beef, ham, turkey and chicken salad sandwiches, and fruit including side i tems and tea (loads of Southern sweet tea!). Cost is included with the even t fee. =C2- Dinner: For Friday night it is NO HOST , but Pappy knows of a great Italian restaurant near the hotel. Saturday night there will be a low country boil , with burgers, dogs, etc=C2-at the hanger with guest speaker and present ations. =C2- Fuel and Hangers: Discounted fuel as well as hangers for $10/night. First c ome first serve on hangers. =C2- Fees/Costs: At this writing, the expected event fee that includes all of th e above is less than $100 but still TBD depending on the RSVP numb er =C2- FINALLY, I need you to RSVP to me VFR DIRECT to me if you are plan ning to attend along with your training needs NOT LATER THAN 1 Feb ruary. =C2- Jon =9CSaber=9D Blake Jblake207@comcast.net
