John, The CJ6 nose wheel axle has a smaller ID on the threaded end, than on the "flanged" end. This smaller ID extends only about 3/4 of an inch, after that the ID is constant. I just measured 3 new axles from my inventory Threaded end: 1. 1.0245 2. 1.0285 3. 1.0260 Flanged end 1. 1.2260 2. 1.2185 3. 1.2205 Best, Doug On Thu, Jan 12, 2017 at 10:14 PM, fishmouth500 <john.warwick1@gmail.com> wrote: > > Will anybody out there with Yak/CJ Cleveland Nosewheel conversion help me > out with an axle measurement, please ? > > Over the years many people have fitted the Cleveland Wheel to the nose > gear so they can take advantage of a less expensive US made tire, (instead > of the Desser product fitted to stock Russian and Chinese nosewheels.) > > This inquiry has to do with a towbar product that fits into the Nosewheel > Axle Inner Diameter. > > I realize that the Cleveland conversion kits added bushings over the OD of > the stock axle....( so no reason at all why the axle bore should be > modified...) but the very first Cleveland converted nosewheel CJ I went to, > had a Nosewheel axle ID that was larger than both Yak and CJ....? > > Background... > Stock Yak 52 nosewheel axle ID 1.017" > Stock CJ nosewheel axle ID 1.188" > > If you are running a Cleveland nosewheel conversion, would you do me a big > favour and take a measurement of the nosewheel axle INNER diameter. > > Thanks ! > > > Read this topic online here: > > http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=465036#465036 > >
