If I have a stock CJ and the air line at the wheel shows the same air press
ure at both sides (about 8bar/120psi) yet one side brakes GREAT and the oth
er side is pretty puny, I have a weak bladder in that wheel, yes?
Is there an adjustment at the wheel to make a brake hold better, or is it b
ladder replacement time?

Bladder either leaks or it doesn't, but I'm not sure it goes weak. Could be
worn pads, or worn drum, if measured air pressure is equal on both sides.
Bladder is easily checked with water.

Pull the drum and check the felt grease seal around the rear of the drum.
=C2- If it's missing or broken, replace it because this is one of the cul
prits that causes the symptom you've described.=C2- It's caused by grease
slingly out onto the brake pads.=C2- Check around the back plate and met
al side plates around the brake pads to see if there is grease built up.=C2
- The grease on the back plate will have brake dust all over it.=C2- Th
e brake pads will look glazed.=C2- If there is grease outside of the rear
cup where the rear felt seal fits into, you'll need to pressure wash the e
ntire brake assembly with avgas (it dries quickly and leaves no residue).
=C2- Then after it dries, scuff up the brake pads by hand with 60 grit we
t/dry sand paper.=C2-
If you have to replace the rear felt seal, do it very slowly and carefully
because if it stretches it will not fit tightly in the groove.=C2- If tha
t happens and you reinstall the drum, the rear cup will cut the new felt se
al and there will be grease all over the place again.=C2- I use the side
of a dental tool to push the seal into the groove while holding the seal in
place with my other hand to prevent it from stretching.
