Subject: | RE: fun w/ fuel lights |
Ok experts, I had my CJ out yesterday and since gas was getting low, I
decided to (within sight of the airport) test my fuel low lights.
Both tanks were at/below the posted 10-liter limit, yet only my R tank red
lamp illuminated.
L tank's lamp stayed out.
Other than change the bulb (which didn't fix it), I've not yet done any
trouble shooting.
Is there a lot of fluctuation on sensitivity in these indicators?
Is there a typical pitfall to check first? My first thought is - besides
never let the fuel get so low - is to clean all connections/grounds.
Just curious, I see my L lamp has a rotating shutter, which the R lamp
apparently does not. I presume this is by design for night ops?
Btw, has anyone successfully run a CJ w/ one tank empty? I'd rather ask
than try.
Thanks all-
Justin
