I mounted one of the prop blades as a conversation piece for my home office. Sorry, I wasn't clear - I meant, what happened to it that it had to come out? I'd also be interested in the answer to Richard G's question! What would happen if the guy landing in front of you had a gear up on the runway?? I test my indicators by putting a fuel drum under the header tank, then use a funnel with filter material inside. It traps any debris while I watch the gauges and lights from the cockpit. Or in an emergency, the 3rd crossing runway. Or one of the several wide taxiways. Or gone to the 2nd airstrip a few miles away. Ground testing is certainly better but the many favorable conditions on this day permitted an air test. Thanks for the inputs...
