    Subject: Voltage question and start
    From: "greg.barnhard@gmail.com" <greg.barnhard@gmail.com>
Good afternoon everyone, You'll have to forgive my lack of knowledge when it comes to electricity. It has always been a weak subject of mine. I'm installing a Garmin G3X touch with a few of the other gizmos associated with it in my Yak-52W. When the master comes on, the PFD will power on along with the engine monitoring information. Garmin offers a GAD 27 which allows for voltage stabilization for start. My question is, I shouldn't need that for my setup since the electrical power is used to open the start valve and power the shower of sparks, right? Those two items shouldn't cause voltage spikes, correct? I believe the GAD 27 voltage stabilization is for those who use conventional electrical starters with high draw, etc. Can someone please set me straight? Thanks! Richard Goode or others who have had more than one Yak 55m may be better to reply, but I have never heard of a throttle cable issue on a Yak 55m Have you confirmed your pressure carburator is not showing signs of defect/ trouble? if you have a solid connection between the throttle and the carb and no binding or roughness, it may be better to look at the carb. You may also want to check for intake leaks if it's inconsistently holding power a t a constant throttle and prop rpm setting when taxiing or airborne. Final ly, when trying to go to idle power, if you have carb ice, it will stay at higher rpm even with throttle at idle until the icing clears. (instead of 2 8% it can be as high as 42% and won't go lower) Jason Bialek used to own Yak 55m 326JB based at KAWO (still having seller's regrets, but happy for new owner) ________________________________ From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com <owner-yak-list-server@matronics. com> on behalf of Jason . <jason360@hotmail.com> Sent: Friday, May 12, 2017 7:53 PM Subject: Yak-List: Yak 55M Throttle Cable Has anyone ever had to replace a throttle cable on the Yak 55M? I have bee n having an erratic throttle lever to power setting issue (lever position n ot matching power output). Suspecting the throttle cable is the issue. Any one ever encounter this? Thank you Jason
