Subject: | Re: Air system trouble |
Are you saying the main air system is not recharging to whatever the pop
off valve/pressure relief valve is set to?
When you turn on the main air valve, do you hear any air leaks coming
from the gear selectorin the front cockpit?
With the rudder pedals centered, do you hear any air leaks coming from
what sounds like under the floor behind the front seat.
Are you certain the snot bottle is fully closed?
>From your description of the problem, there are too many things it COULD
be. Lets try to isolate the problem. You can email me off list if you
prefer and we will go though this step by step.

I hear a light leak but not sure of the origine.

You could hear a faint leak in flight?
If you hear a faint leak from what direction does it come from?

Subject: | YAK 52TW Fuel balance trouble |
Hoping for advice on my 52TW fuel system. My right main tank fuel level drops much
more quickly and constantly than the left main tank. Have to skid/bank too
often to try to level. Thinking it sounds like a left tank check valve problem
but haven't had a yak long. Appreciate any advice/ thx

Subject: | Re: YAK 52TW Fuel balance trouble |
Hi there,
Another brethren from the Top Hemisphere!
I am having the same trouble with my Yak-52, except it was the right tank that
wasn't feeding. I found the right hand fuel tank breather blocked.
The easiest way I found of testing it was to loosen the tank caps and blowing the
lines through with compressed air. Be careful to ensure the tank caps are
loose before you try this though, otherwise you might burst the fuel tank.
Once I have replaced the 90 degree elbow that was cracked on the air regulator
manifold check valve I will be able to test fly him to see if I have cured the
fuel issue.
Of course, your issue could be that the nose wheel is at the wrong end?
Let me know how you get on, and if I track down an elbow and fly first I will do
likewise.
Cheers
Chris

Hello Stefan,
A few questions :
1. Did you do a high power run-up (before the engine quitting) ? 70% and above
?
2. Is it possible for you to do high speed take-off power run on your runway ?
3. When is the last time your engine was overhauled and by whom ?
