What fittings welded in to the snot valve? Male or female? Pipe?
Thank you.

Looigi-
Highly recommend replacing lower ends (the valve part) of your 2 snot valves
with a SS swagelok valve which will never rust and is a easy and terrific m
od to do. Just another way to protect your pneumatic system upstream of the
rest of your components. Contact me off list for the PP presentation which
lays the procedure out. Posted to the list before and the RP Facebook page
.

Your CJ maybe like mine and the oil pressure senders are not located on the rear
of the engine firewall but the secondary frame wall/cockpit area one.
The pic that Walt posted shows the approximate type and shape of the sender's but
those I believe are the fuel ones and the oil senders (Transducers if you prefer)
have a brown case covers.
On my aircraft they are located in the front cockpit and bolt through the panel
(you may call is a secondary firewall or forward frame) just above the STB rudder
pedal area.
Now its interesting you mention the issue you are having as my CJ oil pressure
went exactly the same in the front cockpit and after alot of messing about I traced
it to a faulty sender (swapping cannon plugs identified where the issue
lay) which when opened up looked like it had been full of water??. I managed to
rinse the muck out of it and clean up the delicate internals and it now works
but I had to fabricate a new spring to return the potentiometer arm to zero.
Hope this helps.

I have the sister of your aircraft and of course served together in the PLA and
also have the restricted rear gear and flap function as its a mandatory modification
required by the UK CAA.
I would remove the rear cockpit gear restrictor plate and do the test Dennis has
given as the will test both gear handle valves. It's good practice to excercise
the rear cockpit one periodically, refit handle restrictor plate after tests.
Doug sells kits to rebuild the diverter valves and I did all mine when we brought
the a/c onto the UK register. There was corrosion in about three of them so
they were replaced and upgraded.
Good luck

We did that routinely for some time. In fact our rear selector was not secured.
It is not a requirement in the Yak-52 (in the U.K.) so we figured we'd argue
the toss if we were pulled up. Nevertheless, it leaked so we have now removed
the rear selector entirely. One source of leakage solved on a part we do not use
anyway.

Best thing you ever did! Should do the rear flap selector too. Just two
additional unnecessary points of failure.

It appears that the Chinese weren't always careful when soldering the solder pot
style connectors. In some cases they would wind up with creep up the wire making
the wire stiff and prone to breaking from vibration.
Many techs today have never seen a solder connector, only crimp connectors and
wind up with creep when making repairs. If you can find old connectors take them
apart and practice using the old pins.
