Dear All,
I own and fly a YAK 52 (year 1987) and I've been facing recurrent issues
with the gear selector at the front. It was several times machined an d
repaired but without durable results: it always leaks, more and more. I
must exchange it.
Do you have such a part as spare in your stocks? A new one would be perfect
if still available. BTW, same request for the selector at the rear, that
I'd like to change too.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi,
just replaced a leaky rear flap selector and sent it for overhaul to Aviaserv.
He has new/overhauled ones.
Or mail me (I am in Germany), I have a new rear gear selector as a spare.
btw:
The flap selector leaked so much that during flight the main air tank was drained,
the compressor could not keep up. Had to close the air valve in flight to
preserve some pressure for landing and braking. Luckily I already had a spare
part in stock, so no waiting.

Jean-Philippe / Dennis,
Yes we have both in stock, but simply replacing it will not solve the root
problem. Your pneumatic system is making moisture and if not corrected you
will be replacing them again in a year or so. You might consider checking
your pneumatic desiccant filter, if you have one. If you do not have one
installed, we do carry the stainless steel version in our stock.
Best,
Doug

Subject: | AD Note 2017-16-01 Question |
An AD note (2017-16-01) for the Ameri-King ELTs was issued... see summary below.
Anyway, in the compliance section of the AD it refers to the Periodic Maintenance,
of Ameri-King Corporation Document IM-450, INSTALLATION & OPERATION MANUAL,
Revision A, dated October 18, 1995.
Does anyone have a copy or a link to this manual?
SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by multiple reports of ELT failure and a report
of noncompliance to quality standards and manufacturer processes related to Ameri-King
Corporation ELTs.
This AD requires repetitive inspections of the ELT for discrepancies; repetitive
checks, tests, and verifications, as applicable, to ensure the ELT is functioning;
and corrective actions if necessary. This AD also allows for optional replacement
of affected ELTs and, for certain aircraft, optional removal of affected
ELTs.
COST: The FAA estimates this AD affects 14,500 ELTs installed on various aircraft
of U.S. registry. The cost for the inspection is estimated to cost $170 per
inspection cycle. Replacement, if necessary, is estimated to cost between $940
and $1,840 for parts and labor.
DATES: This AD is effective October 24, 2017.
