Kergg, the damaged "power cable" has a cig. type power plug with a speaker
built into it on one end and a very squashed 90 degree male plug in on the
other. I basically need something to power up the unit in the aircraft. I
thought about going to a good elec shop and matching up the damaged plug but
unfortunately there is not enough left of it to ID.
Thanks for the help,
Doug

Guys, anyone out there have a power cable to fit a Garmin 496? Bought one
on Ebay but unfortunately the end which plugs into the GPS looks like it has
been stepped on! It was also without a operators manual. Any help would
be appreciated.

Pappy (Jim Goolsby) was awarded the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award today in
a ceremony at Lakeland (Sun 'n Fun). That means he has been flying for 50 years
minimum, no accidents and never getting caught ...or something like that.
Just to let all you folks out there know, the FAA is always keeping tabs. Today's
recipients each received a stack of papers for everything FAA had on them.
For Jim that was about an inch thick stack of Ratings, LOA type ratings, etc.
From first student pilot submission to his last B-24 type rating.
