I had this exact same issue today when I put the parking brake on for preflight. Brake on, hiss under the rear floorboard, brake off, no hiss. I still have brakes on each side, it's just constantly bleeding down while the brake is applied. What did your issue end up being? I know there's a brake valve, pressure reducer, and distribution valve in there from the schematics, but I'm unsure where they are or what the most likely culprit might be. Any help or ideas would be very appreciated! Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=477157#477157

You are speaking about the brake reducing valve which is under the right floor panel in the rear cockpit. That is where the leak is coming from when the brake handle is squeezed or locked for the parking brake. Remove the floor panon the right in the rear cockpit. Follow the brake cables to the brake reducing valve. Remove the two 17mm B nuts from the brake reducing valve. Then remove the two mounting bolts with an 8 mm, 1/4 drive socket and ratchet. Call Doug Sapp, the CJ parts supplier. He has overhaul kits for them. Dennis A. If you're=C2-talking about a CJ-6 - - -Since your brake handle is only wo rking the QS1 valve, most likely that is where your leak is. =C2-It just may need to be overhauled. =C2-Sapp has a kit for that. =C2-Check that first. I forgot to mention the brake reducing valve is the unit in the upper right corner of the photo. Look at the shape. That's what you'll be removing. Dennis A. Contact Doug Sap and get rebuild kits for both valves. The valves are located under the floor. Follow the linkage from the rudder pedals to the distribution valve and the piping to the pressure reducing valve. Troops, I need a diagram of a CJ-6's fuel system. =C2-Not the ordinary one but th e one that came with Gill Gruterious bladder tank mod. =C2-In it was the set up for being able to select which tank to feed from. =C2-It used the tank vents by cutting off the vent of the tank that you=C2-did not=C2-w ant to feed from. =C2-After all these years I want to make this change. Right now I'm working on my fuel system because of a very small seep leakin g from my right fuel tank. =C2-I have the tank out of the wing and have f ound a 1/16 crack in the front, inboard=C2-side of the tank, about 3" fro m the front. =C2-Trying to decide how to patch it. =C2-Looking into a n umber of products that I can do my self without having to send the tank bac k to the manufacture and a big expense. =C2-Suggestion? I thought that since I had the system apart I'd put in the mod. Jim "Pappy" Goolsby

In the CJ the brake pressure reducing valve is located, as Frank noted, below the floor. It is accessed from a two Dzus panel on the bottom of the center section left of center. In fact it is in exactly the same location as the brake system water drain (snot) valve which is, of course, checked on a regular basis. Forgot to mention that if you find any water here it is way past time to service your water filter. Also; Had to go to the Forum to find the original post on this subject from Dan Booker. He said it is a CJ and the leak is on the RH side! That is the proportioning valve location though a leak there may be more likely to show up with rudder bar movement. -----Original Message----- From: Walter Lannon Sent: Sunday, January 07, 2018 5:52 PM Subject: Re: Yak-List: Re: Brake air leak In the CJ the brake pressure reducing valve is located, as Frank noted, below the floor. Subject: Yak 18T sound warning box
    From: "Yak Driver" <antdea2000@yahoo.com.au>
Can anyone tell me the physical location of the sound warning box for a Yak 18T. I am experiencing vhf issues and will need to find this box if I decide to change out the radio and intercom with a modern one as it has all the inputs for the slow speed, stall, gear alarms etc. Thanks in advance.
