Subject: YAK 52M rudder pedal quadrant
I am completing the conditional inspection on my YAK 52M and the A&P has discovered play in the bushings of my rudder pedal quadrant. Specifically; if you place your foot on the deck with your toes under the rudder pedal and then press up on the mechanism it moves vertically around 1/8 at the dog bone cross member which translated to about 1/2 at the extreme of the arm. Is there a bushing that wears out or is this normal play? He seems to think we need to disassemble the quadrant and look for a bushing to replace. Any experience with this or suggestions, opinions?
