    Doc, Thx for the point outs, Ive since declared victory with a minimally invasive alternator install in my CJ. Happy to share my lessons learned with any future CJ owners in the same boat...I did write up something but document is trapped between MS and Apple worlds and nice flying weather arrived... Believe my gen light issue was wiring between regulator and generator affecting output...checking continuity of the wiring there may be an easier place to start if you havent already. ... and yes, that probably was an expensive fix for a broken wire, but it was something I wanted to do for a few other reasons as well.
