Around the gill shutter ring is an anti-chafing strip that (having discusse d it with Doug Sapp) is secured by the plates riveted to the ring. So it's not a separate, replaceable part. My gill shutters are in fabulous shape. My anti-chafing strip is not. Anybody got any ideas for replacing it with some kind of modern material an d glue that would hold up? Jon

Jon- I used some felt strip (2x120=9D, 3/16=9D thick) from Grainger ( Item #2FJB9) and Polycord waxed thread (.030) from www.mainethread.com. and m y better half sewed it on. Works fine but one corner needs re-sewing, but a fraid to tell wife her work was sub par, ha, ha!=F0=9F=98=85 so it=99s flapping around a little on one end, but only on a cowl off engine run - Ho ot Sent from my iPhone > On Apr 30, 2018, at 5:35 PM, Jon Boede <jonboede@hotmail.com> wrote: > > Around the gill shutter ring is an anti-chafing strip that (having discuss ed it with Doug Sapp) is secured by the plates riveted to the ring.
