( See Doug Sapp) The leaks at the gear selector can come from serval places. Either the gear actuators (3) or the selector themselves. First, check the actuators. Simply remove the "UP" lines on each actuator and using spit see if air is passing the seals in the actuator. (This same air exit the system at the gear selector). IF you get air there most likely the seals need to be replaced. (Sapp has a kit). IF little or no air from the actuators, then the next culprit is the selector themselves. There is one "O" ring in the valve. If that be it, you're lucky. If the valve face is rusted/pitted, it is best to replace it. The face of the steel selector is case harden steel. If the pits are not too deep, you might be able to find a machine shop that can grind them to a flat polished surface. Be it "O" ring or valve face, getting the valves out of the airplane is the hardest part. First, remove the front pilot's seat in order to get at the rear gear selector valve "B" nuts. (17mm) For the front gear selector valve, you go through the left access panel. Best advice, have fun and be patient. I managed to start the engine and the tank never filled (due to the leak I assume). Is this is a common problem and, if it is, do I need to rebuild the selectors? Are parts are available?
