I'll vote with Walt on this one. That fuel vent loop is the nearest part of
the system to your nose.

Anyone out there based at KCLT or close to run a quick flight to KRDU on the morning
of 8-28? Or know a local GA pilot needing a few hours with fuel covered?
Expenses covered.

smell anything during ground operations or when full throttle ops on take off.
When I get to about 4000 feet and open the throttle all the way I start smelling
gas. When I back off to less than full throttle or about 3/4 throttle the
smell seems to go away. Opening and closing the canopy doesnt seem to have much
effect on the fumes. The fumes arent overwhelming... but they do persist
and seem to be associated with full throttle.

fuel system using the wobble pump while I inspected the engine compartment looking
for leaks... nothing. There was a slight hint of fuel vapors around the
bottom of the carb but nothing too strong and certainly no dripping.

I got a brand new M-14P engine installed in my Nanchang. Then it had overspeed
during the test flight. Plan to send it for tear down inspection. Can anyone recommend
a good shop for this inspection?
Best,
Wei Chen

Wei,
I have a new engine in my Yak 52 =93 TW I am very happy with. The wo
rk was
done by Richard Goode in England via his shop in Hungary. I can tell you
about my experiences with the other shops referenced. Give me a call at
your convenience, 303-400-1900. I also have a T-shirt of yours you left
on the trip to OSH in the house in Wisconsin.
