I'm troubleshooting a flap issue this weekend. This idea really appeals to me. How do we get these plugs into our supply chain? Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=484023#484023

Plugs?=C2- Do you mean the fittings that screw into the flap selector?=C2 - If so, have you tried Doug Sapp?=C2- He typically has some or all of the fittings in stock.Dennis From: N642K <mdecanio@mac.com> To: yak-list@matronics.com Sent: Friday, October 26, 2018 9:11 AM Subject: Yak-List: Re: CJ rear flap selector valve removal I'm troubleshooting a flap issue this weekend.=C2- This idea really appea ls to me. Doug Sapp - Do you carry plugs for bypassing the rear flap handle? Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=484025#484025

Think they are talking about capping off the neutral air in pneumatic line allowing for the removal of the rear flap valve. You can find the neutral air in line by disconnecting the three lines off the flap valve and turning on your main air; the line which has air coming out is your neutral line. Buy a 1/8 Female NPT cap at Ace or on eBay (and yes brass is fine) and take a flare to NPT Chinese fitting from the flap body (straight, 45 deg one, it doesnt matter) or just one laying around and screw on the cap onto the NPT straight end. Use a little permatex or locktite thread sealant on NPT threads. Then take fitting and screw/tighten the B nut on the neutral air in line to the flare and you are done. Careful you dont twist the free line too much but using two wrenches does the trick. Turn on Main air in front cockpit, leak check and operate flap as normal. Remaining down and up lines for aft flap are now inactive and of no concern. Easy project... One less failure point in pneumatic system. Hoot Sent from my iPhone > On Oct 26, 2018, at 9:15 AM, A. From: "Zagman" <stevezago@gmail.com>
Hey guys I'm researching for a future CJ-6 purchase, I've looked at a few models some with the M14 conversion and some with the stock Housai. I'm not particular on either just want a good condition aircraft, however what is the support like in North America for a Housai equipped CJ? I can find lots of info on the M14 but haven't found a shop that sells engines or does overhauls. Are Zero or low time Housai engines available? What do they cost? Who does overhauls on the Housai engines? What are the typical costs associated? I'm new to aircraft ownership so there is plenty to learn. Thanks! There=C2-are two well known=C2-and trusted companies here the USA, who can easily overhaul the M-14p. =C2-One of them has done major work on HS6 engines. =C2-Both have talked about taking on the HS6 but that takes tim e and market. =C2-There are NOT a lot of parts for that engine, and the C hinese are not using that engine for the new production CJ6. =C2-So its g oing to become kinda rare. =C2-Doug Sapp can give you a good idea on avai lability.I personly don't know of anyone else who can do major repairs or o verhauls on them. =C2-You might pick up a mid-time used one from someone installing a M-14p on their CJ.Jim "Pappy" Goolsby -----Original Message----- From: motoadve <motoadve@racsa.co.cr> Sent: Fri, Oct 26, 2018 3:36 pm Subject: Yak-List: Re: Housai Engine Support I am also new, just bought a CJ 6 last week, and very interested in hearing about this subject. -------- www.Backcuountry182.com Cessna 182 P CJ -6 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=484032#484032 S - WIKI - - =C2- =C2- =C2- =C2- =C2- -Matt Dralle, List Admin.
