I had the same symptom and found I had an intermittent mag coil failure caused by high resistance plugs. Reject any that are over 5000 ohms. Since fitting that Auto plugs I have not had any issues. Not my '52, but a good friends..... NOTE this is NOT caused by mag coils breaking own or intermittent mag switches - these have all been changed/checked. So if anyone has some other ideas I'd be grateful to hear. So.. here's the symptoms: "Its always just a one second dead cut. And its only on full throttle but its always a full one second chop and return. Can happen upright or inverted." Any other ideas anyone? Dennis Savarese" Has anyone bothered to check/clean the fine fuel screen on the firewall? How about the fuel screen in the carburetor? It's the 22mm nut just above the 90 degree elbow where the fuel enters the carburetor. Not only should you pull out the fuel screen, but also use a flashlight and mirror and look deep into the cavity to make sure there are no large particles (typically it will be rubber) obstructing the opening at the very back of the screen cavity. Large particles will not be able to move into the screen. Dennis A. From: "Junkhead" I was hoping someone either had these measurements or could possibly take these measurements for me. I am waiting on my plane to be ferried into my airport and then the plan is to trailer it to an off airport location for paint and mods. I have received excellent information on how to do the trailer but before I commit to welding everything up I would like to confirm some good measurement numbers. I am also including a picture (sorry, computer rotated it) of what I measurements I need but here we go: 1. Width of nose wheel_______ 2. Length between main wheel INNER to INNER_______ 3. Length between main wheel OUTER to OUTER_______ 4. Front of Nosewheel to middle of main gear_______ 5. Length or diameter of Main Wheels_______ I know this is a pain in the neck but I have looked everywhere for this. I purchased the plane and the trailer and now I am down to fabricating the trailer mod so I can get started on the actual project. Feel free to shoot me a PM.
