Can't find anything in any of the books I have regarding the proper tension and procedure (if there is one). I have access to a cable tension device but as Walt Lannon has pointed out the structure of the aircraft and I'm sure the temperature at the time of adjustment, may play into the settings. Since I live just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, I would tune them to the "E" string on a banjo but some how I think that might be incorrect! Early YAK-50's had it. It was removed by a Technical Direction. My 50 did NOT have one installed when I got it, but I obtained one from a Russian helicopter oil cooler and put it back in.[/quote] Anyone have the part number of the helicopter vernatherm? I believe our Yak-18T has one installed (warms up quickly in the winter) however the Yak-52 does not - takes much longer and requires a blocking plate at any temp below 10C.
