I know in the past there has been a lot of discussion on hose availablity and US
substitutes. What is the current best option to replace the fuel lines from
the header to the main tanks on my yak 52? Mine have started leaking.

Does anyone have pictures, or schematic or parts diagram on how the yak 52 flap
actuator comes apart?

CJ installation of uavionix skybeacon (left wing, ads-b out) and skysensor (
right wing, ads-b in). Includes LED position lights, strobes, internal waas
gps and wireless for configuration/monitor and ads-b in. Only downside is t
hat if anything fails entire unit must be replaced (at least that=99s u
avionix current position). Ads-b in overlays ForeFlight graphics.
My CJ was a yakkity overhaul back in =9896, with wingtip position/stro
bes. Strobes had been rewired later with their own switched power (not in c
ombo with position lt), so after removing strobe high voltage power supply f
rom inside wingtips it was one for one to uavionix. Given wingtip visibilit
y to belly transponder antenna, I had to go to =9C35=9D on sensi
tivity in configuration app.
=9CHardest=9D part was removing wingtip and retapping light asse
mbly nut plates for larger uavionix mounting screws. Uavionix tech folks ar
e very helpful.
I went with the experimental versions that are not eligible for FAA rebate.
TSO version costs about same after rebate, but requires rebate hoops and ta
xman levy...and maybe experimental version has more compliance flexibility i
n future if FAA ever issues an AD...

I don't know of any 285 hp engines with a flanged shaft, the engine in
question may be a M14B.

Of course, the Chinese began by being given the Russian AI14 engine of
260 hp, but in the same way as they modified the Yak 18 A airframe very
dramatically, they also made many changes to the engine. We have been
intending to get into the business of overhauling the Chinese engines
since we have all the necessary parts for the AI 14 engine, but having
completely disassembled one HS-6 engine to investigate, there are so
many parts that are different, we simply could not do a really good
overhaul today!
But, the magnetos are effectively identical.
But to go back to the first question, did they make many engines with
the Russian propeller flange and indeed did they make many corresponding
propellers?

The Chinese did make a 365 hp engine and a 3 blade prop. I don=99t
think it ever went into serial production.
They also had 6 M14P engines for the Yak 152 project that also never
went into production.

Pappy;
The Chinese standard two blade (Type J9G1) prop. is BASICALLY the same desi
gn as the two blade Russian or Polish V530 type with some very significant
differences.
1. The hub forging: The Chinese hub (G1) consists of two parts, the forgi
ng and a splined mounting sleeve (mated and serialized together) for mounti
ng on a splined shaft. The Russian unit (V530) is a one piece forging with
an integral flange machined to a Russian engine standard.
2. The blade bearings, removable inner race and retaining nut, c/w integra
l outer race, are identical and interchangeable.
3. The blade grips with integral bearing races and blade drive pin are EXT
ERNALLY identical. Internally they are quite different!
4. The Chinese use a forged aluminum alloy blade (J9) designed to screw in
to the blade grip with a thread form appropriate for the characteristics of
the
blade material. The wooden blades of course have an integral steel ba
se with an entirely different thread form.
One could install Russian blade grips (and blades) in a Chinese hub or vice
versa, if one was so inclined!
Best
Walt
