Garry, I have ordered a Stratus ESG for my CJ. As I use portable GPS for my VFR flying I dont have a WAAS GPS source. I like the idea of it built into the transponder. Connecting the 2s is a great way to get ADSB IN. If your altitude encoder is old you might think about replacing it during the installation. Ditto for your antenna and cable. A couple of cost and time effective mods that will help ensure trouble free operation. They have a cable that allows your Stratus 2S to be connected to the ESG, which powers the 2S independently. Normal shop engine crane lifting through a fat strap around the gearbox / crankcase interface with tail supported seems to work nicely. We have given up using the rubber engine mounts. They do not seem to last very long. Instead we use a urethane material that is much more durable. They aren't cheap but then nor is having to change those 16 pesky rubber things every 100 hours.
