My Yak-52 (1980 model) is currently in for annual inspection, and the shop doing
the work has informed me that the wiring is so bad that the aircraft is "unsafe
and dangerous". They are insisting on rewiring the entire aircraft, which
is no doubt going to cost me a small fortune.
Aside from the question of whether or not their assessment is correct, is it possible
to obtain new wiring harnesses for the Yak-52? Or is there a set of drawings
that a wiring shop could use to make up the harnesses. I do have the wiring
diagrams that are available through the web, but the drawings don't give much
detail on the wiring types, lengths, connectors, and so on.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Mike

I can't speak for Hartzell, but a huge advantage of MT propellers is that they
are all fully certified, which means that they have had to go through a tough
process of certification with significant overspeed I personally would not fly
behind a non-certified propeller!

Just a quick note, Hartzell's "Claw 2.0" is for experimental Extras only, unlike
the MTs.

Hi, I know that you can get a green card through https://www.immigrationlawofmt.com/green-card-process/ or similar services. But I also heard that the easiest way to get a green card is to participate in the lottery, which the US government holds every year. Participation in the lottery is free. Anyone can fill in the application form and apply for participation. How realistic is that? Has anyone ever participated in such a lottery?

Yes, I do know that most Hartzell props are fully certified, and indeed good props
but I was only responding to the post below saying "Hartzell "claw 2.0" is
only for experimental Extras", so I assumed that they were not certificated.
But to slightly change the path of the discussion, I was interested that Spencer
has had yet another propeller fall off a Lycoming engine. Why does this happen?
In my 30 years of experience with Russian aircraft and engines, I only know
of one propeller detachment, which was with Svetlana Kapanina, and that with
a Russian team Sukhoi which had been flown for several years, and always at +
and -12 G, and very aggressive flying!

Richard,Thinking of props.=C2- One time on a layover in London with PAA,
I took the train down to Red Hill to hang out the Tiger club there. While t
here the guys were putting a new prop on a blue and white Beta racer.=C2-
It then went up on a test flight and we watch him pass the field several t
imes doing timing runs.=C2- Then he didn't show up and we started to worr
y something must have happened.=C2- I remember the guys kidding the mecha
nic that the prop may have come off.=C2- =C2-Sure enough a few minutes
later the phone rings and the pilots has made a force landing in field some
miles away.=C2- We all jumped into trucks with tools and went extradite
the Beta.=C2- And yes, one blade had separated and the out of balance had
broken 3 of the 4 attach point on the mount so that the only thing holding
the engine in place was the one attach point and the cowling!=C2- It was
a long evening and I was late getting back to my hotel but I have a great
time with a bunch of great guys with funny accents - getting that Beta out
of that field.=C2- I even learn to love warm beer.
