Hello all. Just disassembled one brake master cylinder on my YAK55m. Need a few rubber parts to make it work again. Anyone know if there's anything available for these things ? -------- SteveO Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=491173#491173

Hey there, did you get to the bottom of your brake issues? I have a soft pedal on my 55m and have pulled the master cylinder. Need some rubber parts, do you know of anything available ? Cheers Steve. -------- SteveO Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=491174#491174

You might well find someone with these various Yak rubber brake components, but in the past we've found that going to a friendly automotive brake specialist, and going through the large range of seals that they have is normally quite productive! Steve; Are you using a red colored fluid (Aeroshell Fluid 41 or equiv.)? If so your seals are neoprene/nitrile NOT natural rubber. Automotive (and very old aircraft to about late 1940's) used natural rubber seals and vegetable based brake fluid. Probably today all brake seals should be Nitrile/Neoprene since these are compatible with both vegetable and mineral fluids. However, if you are about to use an automotive seal in your red fluid brake system soak it in that fluid for at least 48 hours and ensure there has been no change in dimensions.
