In the midst of my cond insp, and the RPA checklist notes the tach gen should be removed and "disassembled and bearings repacked with grease." I've yet to disassemble one. Where are these bearings (ie- how get to them)? What grease have y'all successfully used? Tach gen maint tips & thoughts much appreciated... I have one ordered with Doug, but not sure when it will come in with everything thats going one. If any one has one and is will to sell or trade for the one I have on order that would be great. Otherwise Im down for awhile. One solution is a Horizon tachometer. These work well, and you can remove several pounds of weight from your aircraft.
